DISOBEY was made for DigiPen's Gam200 project, which is to create a game from scratch with a custom engine. This was a group project with 8 people where I worked on both unity and the custom engine to create, implement & deliver on all the art aspects. That includes background, player sprites, UI & cutscenes, VFX. My primary role was art but I participated in the logic creation for enemies & main character

Other Contributions:

- Story

- Game Design & Mechanics discussion

- Game Art, Character Art & UI Designs

- Cutscene & Json Implementation in custom engine

- Creating and scheduling meetings & documents for the team.

Production Journey

Art Lead

As the Art lead, I was in charge of ALL of the art. Yes. Everything. In the span of 6 short months I created everything art related in the game. With that, a ton of ideation. We went for a pixel art style so that it was less taxing on our engine.

Along with that, I implemented all of the JSON code for each sprite & animation inside the game itself.

First thing's first is the moodboards to get the feel of the style the game.

Various Moodboards

Game Design Document

This is the entire game design document inclusive of mechanics, art direction, sound direction, story & more

Production

Once the moodboard is done, I work on the sketches and ideation for the character

Creation

Then I move onto the animating. I wanted the background to be dull. While the character and her graffiti to be bright colors, to show the contrast
